Xerochrysum bracteatum - Golden Strawflowers - 50 seeds

Xerochrysum bracteatum commonly known as the the Golden Everlasting or Strawflower has had more than its share of name changes over recent years but still remains one of the best known and most widely cultivated of all the Strawflowers.

An annual growing to 1m tall with long greyish green leaves and golden flowers to 5 cm in width making a delightful and reliable display, and the flowers make wonderful long lasting dried flowers.

It can take a range of soils from slightly acid to slightly alkaline, can take temperatures to about -1°C.  It is best grown in full sun with good moisture but can take some indirect light or lightly dappled shade with some reduction in flowering, best planted from Spring to Autumn.
