Ptilotus exaltatus (nobilis) - Tall Mulla Mulla / Pink Mulla Mulla - 25 seeds

Ptilotus exaltatus grows as an erect herbaceous annual or short lived perennial growing up to 1.2m in height and is widespread through the arid and semi arid regions of Australia.
It has oblong leathery green foliage with gorgeous pink - purple flowers that grow in dense conical spikes up to 15cm long and 5cm wide from Autumn to Spring.  The flowers are highly ornamental and are a fabulous statement plant - great in garden beds, in containers or in a rockery.
 
Easily propagated by seed with out the need of any pre-treatment, sow in Autumn or Spring and grow as a Summer Annual - seed can be slow to germinate.
Deadhead spent flowers to encourage flowering, water once a week in the warmer weather and feed with a slow release low phosphorus fertiliser.
 
Established plants prefer a sandy soil in an open position and full sun with excellent drainage.
