Grevillea decurrens - Decurrens Grevillea - 10 seeds
Grevillea decurrens, commonly known as Decurrens Grevillea is a small three with dark grey to black bark and broadly lobed leaves growing to 3m in height and about half that in width. It is a tropical species occurring throughout the Top End in the Kimberleys in Western Australia and across the Northern Territory to just over the Queensland border.
Foliage is pale green to bluish green large lobed, smooth and entire from 15 to 40cm in length.
Flowers are a creamy white turning pink with a greenish tip and occur in the Summer and Autumn, sometimes continuing into Winter, this species is nectar producing and attractive to pollinating birds.
Grevillea decurrens has been widely and successfully cultivated in the tropics and subtropics from Darwin to Brisbane and points in between. It tolerates light frosts and dry conditions but does not survive heavy frosts or prolonged cold weather, prefers an open situation without root competition, full sun to light shade and a well drained acidic sand or light loam is best.
