Eucalyptus serraensis, formerly Eucalyptus alpina, is commonly known as the Grampians Gum and is a small growing Mallee native to the Grampians region of western Victoria.  It is a small rounded tree that has the habit unusual for a Eucalypt of growing right to the ground and normally grows to some 4m with a width of up to 6m.

Bark on the lower trunk or stems are typically flaky changing to smooth on the smaller branches, the leaves are thick and leathery, flowers are creamy white and are followed by unusual rather warty seed pods.

Grampians Gum is both frost and snow resistant but drought tender and is an attractive, reliable small bushy plant in cultivation and is suitable for windbreaks, screening and shelterbelts.  Prefers a light to medium moist soil in an open sunny position.
