This is a rare Australian native Eucalypt that only has two known populations, the Gibraltar Range and Timbarra Plateau in the eastern northern Tablelands of NSW on granite derived soils, dry sclerophyll forest or woodland on infertile soils.  
 
Growing to 30m tall and forms a lignotuber with the Peppermint type bark, juvenile foliage is subsessile to shortly petiolate, 4.5 - 10cm long x 2.5 - 5.5cm wide and a dull green to blue green colour, the adult foliage is lanceolate to falcate, 7 - 18.5cm long x 0.9 x 2.6cm wide and are slightly glossy to a dull grey green colour.
 
Flower buds occur in clusters of 7 - 15 or more per umbel and opens up to reveal white flowers in Summer.
 
This tree has oil dense leaves that tastes fruity, basil like and the leaves can be dried and ground into a spice for deserts or herbal tea.
