Eucalyptus erythronema, commonly known as the Red Flowered Mallee or White Mallee is a small tree growing from 2 to 6m in height with a multi-trunked Mallee habit and occurs naturally in inland areas of south west Western Australia.
 
 
This is a delightful and very handsome small Eucalyptus with smooth powdery bark that can range in colour from pure white to grey or brown or red or pink.  The intermediate leaves are elliptic to ovate, straight, entire and dull grey green, petiolate, adult leaves are, narrow lanceolate in a glossy green.  
 
Flowers to about 2.5cm can be white, yellow, red or pink - this listing is for the very attractive red flowering form.  The Red Flowered Mallee is drought tolerant and can take light frost - to about 0°C in its home territory and is best in light loamy or sandy soils with good drainage.
