This Australian native tree reaches heights of up to 10m tall but often smaller with a Mallee habit, it forms a lignotuber and is endemic to WA growing naturally in coastal and subcoastal areas on sandplains, hills, swamp margins and Winter moist soils on white, yellow or grey sand, sandy clay, gravelly loam and laterite.
 
The bark is grey, rough throughout and tightly held, fissured grey over yellowish brown, flaky or ribbony, juvenile foliage is slightly blue green, orbicular to broadly elliptical or obcordate 2 - 6.5cm long x 2 - 5cm wide and adult foliage are glossy, sometimes dull green, lanceolate and 6.5 - 12.5cm x 1 - 3.2cm wide.
 
It has 11 - 21 flower buds per umbel with creamy white flowers emerging in Spring and Summer.
