This is an erect Mallee species growing to 7m tall, forming a lignotuber is endemic to WA and found growing naturally in the central to northern wheatbelt from Calingri, north to Coorow extending east into slightly drier country as far as Wubin and Beacon.
 
It has very attractive bark and varies seasonally from powdery white to dark reddish and pink to brown, olive green to green glossy leaves that are lanceolate to narrow lanceolate and lovely pendulous reddish flowers in the crown, rarely creamy yellow in Spring and Summer.
