Callitris verrucosa - Mallee Cypress Pine / Scrub Cypress Pine - 30 seeds

This is a shrub to small tree that often has the appearance of a stunted or many stemmed tree or large shrub, growing 5 to 8m in height with lime green conifer type leaves that grow in whorls along the stem, to 1 - 4mm long with a rounded tip and are aromatic when crushed - the leaves are scale like and hairless.
Male and female cones form on the same plant - female cones occur singly or in groups of 2 or more and are broad ovoid to sub globose with the scales being thick, warty and united forming a thick cone base and male cones are grey green and occur singly, rarely in pairs.
 
Best in light well drained soil in a full sun position, it is drought tolerant and frost resistant.
Makes a great garden addition as a large screen or windbreak and has great potential as a Bonsai specimen.
