This is an open and erect shrub, growing 1 - 2.5m tall with small rounded leaves that clasp around the stem, 2 - 5mm long and mauve to purple, pink or red flowers, similar to small bottlebrush flowers that are 20mm in diameter, occurring at the ends of branches in late Winter to Autumn or Summer, followed by woody, almost spherical seed capsules, 8 - 10mm in diameter.It is native to WA and endemic to the SW of WA but is successfully grown in most cool to temperate climates, tolerates drought, light frost, most soils including coastal sand and exposure.Best grown in well drained soils in full sun to part shade, prune when young do develop a compact habit and mulch around the base to help retain soil moisture.Makes a great feature in the garden, attracts birds, bees and other insects and can be grown in containers.This listing is for 20 premium quality seeds shipped on receipt of cleared funds.
