Banksia conferta v conferta - Glasshouse Banksia - 5 seeds

This Banksia is native to SE QLD and northern NSW and has a single rough and tessellated trunk that grows to 1m before branching, it is non lignotuberous and has is dense with foliage that is deep green elliptic to oval leaves to 4 - 12cm long x 1 - 4cm wide, silvery underneath, the new growth is reddish and hairy.  The flower buds are greenish pink and then yellow when open in the Autumn to Winter, seeds are held in follicles on a woody cone and are retained until burnt.
 
It is found naturally growing in well drained soils on rocky sloopes and in open woodland.
